US Data Center Map

Facility Tracker

Interactive map of ~648 major US data center facilities (>5 MW). Locations from the IM3 Data Center Atlas (PNNL/OpenStreetMap) merged with hand-curated data from public filings. MW capacity is estimated from building footprint — see methodology below.

Methodology & Limitations

Facility locations come from the IM3 Data Center Atlas (Pacific Northwest National Laboratory / OpenStreetMap, ODbL license), supplemented with hand-curated entries from public filings and planning records. MW capacity is estimated from building footprint area using industry power density ratios (hyperscale ~200 W/sqft, colocation ~130 W/sqft, enterprise ~80 W/sqft, adjusted for PUE). Individual facilities are capped at 1,000 MW; campuses below 5 MW are excluded.

What's not shown: Military/government facilities, small enterprise server rooms (<5 MW), very recent builds not yet mapped in OpenStreetMap, and facilities filed under shell entities with no public footprint data. Actual power draw may differ significantly from these estimates — many newer AI-focused facilities have higher power densities than the averages used here.
